What are you guys doing to entertain yourselves this summer during the week? And what about weekends? I keep thinking I can't wait till the weekend to do something super fun and then I realize I have absolutely no creative ideas! Sigh.
I work from home. Gretch works four jobs, one of which is from home. We entertain ourselves with movies, TV-on-DVD, games (like Killer Bunnies, Scrabble, etc), and jigsaw puzzles.
We've also tried to go out with friends where we inevitably do the same things we would do at home.
Well, there is also the occasional laser tag outing, but I don't know if your daughter is quite ready for that...
i'm chuckling because it was at exactly this age with parker that i was feeling the same way. in fact, i think the reason i wanted another one so soon was because i was bored. i did start going to a kindermusik class with him and a little gym or gymboree class, and those were fun. the summer is the best though because you can just hang out at the pool all day. wish you lived closer so we could play together.
Come play with us! We'll entertain you. I second the comment about having another kid so soon because I was bored staying at home. If only I'd known how busy life gets as they get older! Last summer with Marc I went to the pool and the park a lot. Now this year we do the same thing but Marc also has open gym at the rec center and I meet up with friends to go to the Children's museum, zoo, aquarium, etc. The mall play area is also a lot of fun and a great way to get out of the house for free. But even though my days are a lot busier this year with a very active toddler and a baby, I still get bored a lot too.
I second swimming. There is a park down here with a man-made river running through it and a fountain on a timer that the kids LOVE. I can even sit Sami in the water of the "river" and she has a blast. Water is fun at any age. Sometimes we don't even head down there until lik 7:30 because it's still warm, but the sun isn't so direct and bright!
Call Crystal. She has done some fun things and I'm sure she would love some company. And why not take a weekend trip somewhere? That is what we try to do when we have a second. It is totally worth it even with a kid.
It's too hot to do anything but WATER activities here in AZ. So, we do a play swim group with the ward and Emma is in beginning swim classes. And DUH.... shopping!!
A few random thoughts: Go to a minor-league baseball game. Find a community theater company or a community symphony orchestra. Play frisbee in the park. Dinner & a movie. Skee-ball at the arcade. Temple trip. Mini-golf or bowling.
"To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many--now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." --President Gordon B. Hinckley
Quotable Quote:
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. - Rajneesh (lifted from Judy)

Swimming. Come go with us sometime at our neighborhood pool!
One more thing...this Saturday is the Allen Celebration that is fun to go to: concert & fireworks too.

I bought an iPhone, and now I'm not bored anymore. :) I'm like a kid in a candy shop.
Hang with us. We're bored too. Wanna come over this weekend? I think we're being boring and available.
