Easter Weekend...part II

After an awesome Friday at the zoo and hanging out downtown, we weren't sure Saturday could be better...but it was1 Elizabeth was in a fantastic mood.

Why, you ask? Take a close look...

That's right. She's rockin' the bed head. After breakfast, she took a second crack at getting her beauty sleep.

I must say, it was working for her.

So, the secret to day 2 of a happy staycation is lots of naps for the baby. I love how miniature she looks in this tremendous bed. Well, let's not lie. I pretty much love any picture of this kid!

Why I decided to celebrate Good Friday this year...

Because since I'm no longer a lawyer, it actually turned out to be good. We just went to the zoo, but since it was a weekday and Adam was not at work, we decided it was a celebration.

We hung out with the zebras.

Adam introduced her to the elephants.

Elizabeth tried her hand at being the Elephant Whisperer. (She's been working hard on her elephant sounds.)

The elephants were unresponsive.

So she settled for a ride on the back of the bronze elephant statue.

And then a nap just about the time we got to the exhibit where the otter was doing flipturns that would make Michael Phelps jealous. Those little guys are incredible and quite cute, if I may be so bold.

Good news though. She woke up just in time to see what happens to very naughty monkeys.

Both of them sent to the corner. Let that be a lesson to them.

You know, I've never been one who loves the zoo but this one has changed my mind. It's so shady and well designed and the exhibits allow you to get so close to the animals. Plus, a pretty cute little girl who squeals with delight at any animal that moves is a pretty good draw too. Stay tuned. If Good Friday was good, Saturday was great!

Mission Accomplished

Phase 1 of teething has concluded. Elizabeth has her first 2 teeth. She's quite proud of herself.

And we have our happy baby back...till the next round of teething. (And Cat, thank you for the headbands. The only person who loves them more than I do is Elizabeth. She thinks she's pretty cute in them.)

And we're back.

Poor Miss Elizabeth had the flu and was teething at the same time. We saw a lot of this:

and this:

and this.

Pathetic looking, isn't she? Well, she's better now and as soon as my phone reappears (yes, I lost ANOTHER phone), I'll reconnect with society. Stay tuned. :)

Something is very wrong here.

I went to the library today (e.g. my favorite place on the planet) and came away with nothing. Amidst piles and piles of books, I couldn't find a thing that I wanted to read. So help me out, folks. I need some good suggestions. I don't know if I can take another week of not having a book to read. My brain will rot. Help me!
